CONSULAR SERVICES
Under consular services you can read about visa rules, applying for and renewing passports, and drivers licenses, marriage in Denmark and travel regulations for the US and Denmark.
Most consular services in the USA are provided by The
Danish Consulate General in New York
.
However, if you live in the one of following states, you may contact the
Danish Consulate General in Chicago
for consular services: Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas and Wisconsin
If you live in the greater Washington DC area, you may contact the
Danish Embassy in Washington DC
for consular services.
Important Information for US Citizens
People traveling on an American passport may enter Denmark and the other Schengen countries without a visa and stay as a tourist for up to three months. The passport must be valid 3 months beyond the last day of stay in the Schengen countries.
Visa Applications
For visa applications and questions about Schengen, residence visas and work visas, you must contact the Danish Consulate General in New York. The Danish embassy does not accept visa applications.
If you live in the greater Washington DC area, you may also apply for Schengen visas for entry into Denmark at the
Embassy of Sweden
in Washington DC.
